Hakeem may have felt vindicated after trumping Lucious out of his position as the CEO and chairman of Empire, but he is sure to feel the consequences of his action too soon.

Last episode recap: episode 10 we saw Camilla, Hakeem’s ex-girlfriend return. Lucious wanting to acquire Swiftstream. Mimi heading a meeting to overthrow Lucious from the CEO title. The youngest Lyon child, Hakeem getting the better of his father, disregarding Cookie’s advice and then siding with Mimi and Camilla. When it was his turn to vote whether to kick or not kick Lucious out of his throne, Hakeem voted for him to be kicked out. For Hakeem this was getting back at his father for all the bad things he did to him and his mother. His decision was firmed up after Camilla convinced him that Lucious has not done anything to further his career and that by going back to her, she could take it to the next level.

Mimi has set up a plan to overthrow Lucious even before the Swiftstream deal. Mimi has had a hard time to put her heist in motion as Andre and Thirsty have Lucious’ back. Mimi plans to move from the start and surprisingly enough Hakeem obliged to her.

Lucious is now officially thrown out of the company even if he still has majority of shares. Cookie was horrified that her son chose that moment to let out all the hurt for Lucious, but she understands where Hakem is coming from.

Mimi is reportedly planning to hand over the reins to Camilla as she has to take care of her health.Camilla is now at helm and things are sure enough to change in Empire. Will Hakeem come to regret his decision?

The co-creator told Deadline that Camilla would play a big part in season 2B.

"I don't know who in the writer's room came up with that but I thought it was so genius and I loved it so much. The idea that Camilla comes in at the end of the first half of this season and takes over Empire...well, I remember when I saw the first cut of tonight's episode and Naomi shows up, I just started cheering it made me so happy" he shared.
